Overview

The Remote Certified Coder position involves reviewing medical records and applying appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnostic codes while ensuring compliance with coding standards and guidelines.

Requirements

• Active nursing license (RN or LPN) and/or certified coder certification.
• 1 year of experience as a medical coder/abstractor.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM outpatient coding guidelines.
• Ability to code using ICD-9-CM code book.
• Strong clinical skills related to chronic illness management.
• Reliability and commitment to deadlines.
• Personal discipline to work remotely.
• Computer proficiency including MS Windows and MS Office.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and commitment to confidentiality.
