Manager, Technical Accounting - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Technical Accounting to join our Corporate Accounting team. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues, ensure compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements, and support the organization with technical accounting guidance related to new or complex transactions. This position will play a critical role in supporting financial reporting accuracy, evaluating accounting implications of business decisions, and maintaining a strong control environment.

In Short

• Research, evaluate, and document the accounting treatment of complex and non-routine transactions.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the company’s financial statements.
• Prepare white papers, technical memos, and accounting policies to support accounting positions and external audit requirements.
• Partner with business leaders, legal, tax, FP&A & business development teams.
• Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
• Review and support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Work closely with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audit processes.
• Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting teams.
• Maintain and update the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting research.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience drafting accounting position papers.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plus.
• Experience in a public company or high-growth private company preferred.
• Exposure to IPO readiness or SOX compliance processes preferred.
