Overview

The Estimating Engineer at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for providing pricing and design support for construction projects, ensuring estimates meet company standards and building codes.

• Provide pricing and design support for construction projects.
• Prepare calculations and engineering details from contract drawings.
• Consult with builders and sales teams regarding design and code compliance.
• Evaluate customer information for cost-effective solutions.
• Build relationships with builders and vendors.
• Train builders on pricing tools and design programs.
• Check and self-perform complex estimates.
• Improve productivity and accuracy in estimating processes.
• Expand engineering knowledge for professional development.
• Report to the Estimating Manager and manage own projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of metal building design experience.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications.
• Experience with in-house design programs.
• PEMB knowledge and design considerations.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
