Overview

The Estimating Engineer is responsible for providing pricing and design support for construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and company standards.

• Prepare calculations and engineering details from contract documents.
• Provide accurate designs that meet code requirements.
• Consult with Builders and Sales on complex framing scenarios.
• Identify discrepancies and clarify quotations.
• Evaluate customer information for cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure use of current pricing when preparing estimates.
• Maintain relationships with Builders and Vendors.
• Train Builders on the use of pricing tools.
• Self-check complex estimates and improve productivity.
• Expand engineering knowledge towards obtaining a Professional Engineering License.

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple workflows.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Comfortable with customer interactions.
• Competency in in-house design programs.
• Knowledge of metal building design.
• Ability to work independently on projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• 2+ years of metal building design experience.
