Payroll & Benefits Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will manage the activities relating to the company payroll, benefits and HRIS processing including developing, implementing, and monitoring to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate.

In Short

• Preparation and administration of Canadian & US payroll for a remote workforce.
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Administer employee benefit programs for Canada & U.S.
• Collaborate with HR for accurate pay and personnel records.
• Assist in preparing international payrolls.
• Maintain employee records in payroll/HRIS system.
• Conduct audits to ensure accuracy of enrollments.
• Prepare payroll and benefit journal entries for finance.
• Handle inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
• Assist with payroll related audits and projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll functions.
• Solid understanding of U.S. benefit plans.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll taxes.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is an asset.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of UKG/UltiPro is an asset.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Sound analytical thinking and planning skills.
