Overview

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for registering patients accurately and timely, handling insurance information, and ensuring a smooth check-in process at the Trenton hospital campus.

In Short

• Full-time position, 5 days per week.
• Day shift with flexibility to work afternoons and midnights.
• Rotates every other weekend.
• Handles patient registration activities and appointment scheduling.
• Ensures billing accuracy through proper coding.
• Communicates effectively with patients and family members.
• Operates standard office equipment and software.
• Participates in safety initiatives and completes required competencies.
• Prepares patient liability estimations.
• Transport patients as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with information systems and office software.
• Preferred: 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience.
