Interim Controller - Remote

Overview

This role is for an Interim Controller with experience in P&C insurance, responsible for overseeing financial and accounting operations within a financial services firm.

In Short

• Day to day financial and accounting operations oversight
• Consolidations oversight and responsibilities
• Certification of GAAP and financial reporting
• Serve as liaison with external auditors
• Monitor compliance activities
• Oversight for a team of 7 individuals
• General ledger and close activities management
• Assisting with redesign of financial processes and automation
• Maintain month-end and year-end close activities
• Audit readiness and financial reporting

Requirements

• 10+ years of financial and accounting experience
• Experience with insurance or financial services organizations
• Expertise in month-end close and statutory accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
• CPA preferred but not required
• 5+ years of oversight of accounting staff
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
