Design Director - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Design Director to join our team. This role demands creative ideation, rapid iteration, and a love of craft and polish, giving feedback and mentorship to members of design staff.

In Short

• Help lead the creative and design process to drive the direction and evolution of the Cohere visual identity.
• Collaborate with the design team and outside stakeholders in marketing and engineering.
• Create novel but polished experiences through collaboration with internal teams and external creative partners.
• Maintain and evolve the brand and its touchpoints including guidelines and visual assets.
• Help shepherd the growth of the entire design team through mentorship.

Requirements

• 7+ years in design, art direction and/or creative direction, preferably in both startup and larger tech companies.
• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and the impact of your work.
• Proficiency in modern design software including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in providing feedback and direction to creative partners including photographers, 3D artists, animators, illustrators, strategists, and copywriters.
• Experience in directing strategists and copywriters also a plus.
