Overview

The Transportation Claims Examiner is responsible for investigating and settling transportation and first-party claims, ensuring compliance with state-specific guidelines while providing excellent customer service.

In Short

  • Initiate investigation of new claims.
  • Make liability and coverage decisions.
  • Evaluate and negotiate settlements for various types of claims.
  • Manage the work of outside adjusters and appraisers.
  • Develop understanding of liability and coverage principles.
  • Maintain compliance with state laws and regulations.
  • Complete research for market value determinations.
  • Respond to time-sensitive claims-related materials.
  • Maintain state license through continuing education.
  • Handle small claim suits as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Lloyd’s of London is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Xactimate.
  • Able to be licensed in necessary states.
  • AIC designation preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to document claims clearly.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
