Director of Digital Services - Remote

Overview

The Director of Digital Services will be responsible for ensuring that somervillema.gov, City microsites, and related digital tools are accurate, useful, secure, and accessible, providing the highest-quality public-facing digital access to the City of Somerville.

• Lead web development scoping, planning, and technical web architecture for all related projects.
• Collect and analyze data on online content usage and coordinate improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least five years of experience in digital services or web development.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with digital accessibility and compliance.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools and web analytics platforms.
• Experience in a public-sector organization is preferred.
• Strong vendor and contract management skills.
