Overview

The Traffic Operations Electrical Operations Unit is seeking a Certified IT Developer (Applications) to oversee the planning, design, configuration, and support of computer applications programs, with a focus on coordinating between the OTI Poletop reservation system and the DOT system.

In Short

  • Supervise a unit engaged in application programs planning and design.
  • Develop applications for the OTI Poletop reservation system.
  • Involved in mapping for inspection planning needs.
  • Track and manage construction inspections for DOT streetlight poles.
  • Participate in the TERMS Replacement project.
  • Utilize ArcGIS and mapping software.
  • May perform supervisor duties in their absence.
  • Work location at 55 Water Street, New York, NY.
  • Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.
  • Must meet certification and examination requirements.

Requirements

  • Must hold current professional/vendor certifications.
  • Master's degree in computer science or related field with 12 months of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 24 months of experience.
  • High school diploma with 24 months of specialized experience and 48 months of IT experience.
  • Experience in applications development planning and design.
  • Knowledge of GIS structures and mapping principles.
  • Familiarity with project management support and technical writing.
  • Experience in testing and version control.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
