Deputy Director of Street Name Signs - Remote

Overview

The Deputy Director of Street Name Signs (DDSNS) will assist in overseeing a $10M contract for the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of street name signs citywide, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.

• Assist in managing a $10M street name signs contract.
• Supervise a team to ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Coordinate contractor billing and performance monitoring.
• Review and recommend approval of invoices.
• Prepare performance summaries for senior management.
• Assist with data analysis and vendor payment processing.
• Support preparation of change orders and time extensions.
• Oversee order creation and tracking in SIMS.
• Work closely with IT on system improvements.
• Respond to street name sign requests via 311 and ARTS.

Requirements

• Master's degree in transportation engineering or related fields.
• Baccalaureate degree in engineering with relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with DOT’s Sign Information Management System (SIMS).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work efficiently.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to motivate and manage staff.
