Overview

The Assistant Civil Engineer will support the Design & Construction unit of the Transportation Planning and Management division, focusing on enhancing the safety and efficiency of New York City's streets.

In Short

• Assist in the creation of safer streets through bicycle and transit network enhancements.
• Collaborate with project managers on capital transportation projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD for developing official design plans.
• Engage in field investigations and layout assistance.

• May work remotely up to 2 days a week.
• Requires a valid New York State driver’s license.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering.
• One year of full-time experience in civil engineering work or a Master's degree in civil engineering.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NYC Street Design Manual.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
• Experience with project management and technical analysis.
