Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer to join our team in a fully remote role. This position is expected to begin in August 2025.

In Short

• Support project teams with 3D generated site logistics and site phasing.
• Create accurate 3D models for plan checking and drawing QA.
• Provide 4D simulation for construction sequencing.
• Manage scheduling coordination meetings.
• Primary point of contact for 3D content management.
• Prepare comprehensive as-built information upon building close-out.
• Maintain database within the as-built model.
• Provide training on field management data.
• Continuously update knowledge in advanced 3D software.
• Train project team members in electronic construction information management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
• Basic understanding of scheduling software.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong understanding of construction documents.
• Technical knowledge of commercial building design.
• Advanced software knowledge (2D and 3D AutoCAD).
• Experience with Revit MEP, Revit Structure, and Autodesk Revit Architecture preferred.
• Familiarity with Navisworks Manage 2024, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBuilding, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro Pro LTD, Primavera, 3DS Max or Viz, Google Sketch Up, and Google Earth.
