Overview

The Office of the Agency Chief Contracting Officer (ACCO) within the Division of Finance is seeking to hire an exceptional, highly motivated, detailed-oriented Agency Attorney IV to perform duties of an Assistant ACCO, coordinating procurement planning and ensuring compliance with procurement rules and laws.

In Short

  • Coordinate with Divisions regarding procurement planning.
  • Negotiate, draft, and edit solicitation documents and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with New York City Procurement Rules and Laws.
  • Lead procurement activities from pre-solicitation to contract award.
  • Supervise and monitor staff performance.
  • Represent the ACCO at public hearings and meetings.
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of the Agency.
  • Utilize internal tracking systems for procurement processes.
  • Review proposed legislation and draft internal procedures.
  • Work with various stakeholders to address procurement needs.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • One year of legal experience or six months as an Agency Attorney Intern.
  • Experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff.
  • Knowledge of local laws impacting procurement.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to public service and community health.
  • Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
