Senior Lead Counsel 1, IP & Technology Transactions - Remote

Overview

The Citi Corporate Legal department seeks to fill an attorney role in the Technology Transactions team, within the global IP and Operations & Technology law group at Citi. The Senior Lead Counsel 1 is a senior level position responsible for providing Citi businesses and functions with legal counsel and thought leadership on all matters related to Technology Transactions.

In Short

• Provide legal counsel on Technology Transactions.
• Negotiate and draft commercial contracts including technology agreements.
• Collaborate with various business and legal teams globally.
• Support strategic initiatives and product/service launches.
• Manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
• Provide thought leadership using knowledge of industry laws.
• Evaluate business decisions against legal standards.
• Monitor complex legal issues and escalate as necessary.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships within the organization.
• Contribute to legal compliance and ethical standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of general commercial transactional experience.
• Experience with multi-national or financial services companies.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and laws.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree.
• Member of Florida bar or ability to qualify.
• Spanish proficiency or LATAM experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the Tampa office.
