Overview

The Customer Care & Community Engagement Specialist serves on the front lines of our relationship with readers, subscribers, and online community. This role combines traditional customer service through Zendesk with public-facing social media engagement.

In Short

  • Respond to customer service inquiries via Zendesk.
  • Work closely with customer service representatives at the call center.
  • Engage with the community on social media platforms.
  • Resolve subscription and account questions for customers.
  • Coordinate responses with the marketing team.
  • Log social media interactions into Zendesk.
  • Participate in check-ins with Operations and Marketing.
  • Assist with drafting response templates.
  • Provide support for special campaigns.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience, phone customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suites.
  • Familiarity with social media tools & platforms.
  • Comfortable using a computer and related office equipment.
