Overview

The Senior Benefits & Retirement Specialist is responsible for overseeing retirement-related functions and managing benefits administration processes while serving as a liaison between clients and relevant organizations.

• Oversee retirement functions for STRS and PERS.
• Manage benefits administration processes including open enrollment.
• Act as primary liaison for clients with County Offices of Education.
• Ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.
• Collaborate with Payroll team to support client needs.
• Audit and reconcile benefit contributions.
• Monitor audits and manage responses.
• Assist clients with benefits-related inquiries.
• Conduct training sessions on benefits best practices.
• Provide guidance on benefits deductions and compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in retirement plan administration.
• Strong understanding of CalSTRS and CalPERS.
• Experience with employee benefits administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll processing systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of non-profit payroll compliance is a plus.
