Overview

The Peer Support Specialist for Acute Care Services will provide critical support in crisis situations, utilizing their lived experience to connect with clients and promote recovery.

In Short

  • Provide peer counseling and support for individuals in crisis.

  • Function professionally while respecting client confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred.
  • At least one year in recovery from mental illness.
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist or Recovery Coach.
  • Strong commitment to community integration for individuals with mental illness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound clinical judgment in various situations.
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records.
  • Willingness to acquire new clinical skills as needed.
