Overview

The Smoke Free Generation Lead Practitioner role is an opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and young people by leading a prevention, cessation, and education service to reduce smoking prevalence among those aged 11-24 in Surrey.

In Short

  • Lead the Smoke Free Generation initiative aimed at reducing smoking among young people.
  • Design and deliver educational programs on smoking and vaping prevention.
  • Implement evidence-based cessation services for young individuals.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated team and partner agencies.
  • Support young people in their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Maintain high standards of record keeping and reporting.
  • Engage with young people and families effectively.
  • Promote the Smoke Free Generation Ambassador network.
  • Flexible homeworking opportunities are available.
  • Requires a valid driving license and access to a vehicle.

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification in youth work, counselling, or health and social care.
  • Experience in therapeutic delivery and support for young people.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of smoking cessation interventions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and agencies.
  • Competency in maintaining records and documentation.
  • Experience in supporting individuals with emotional wellbeing challenges.
  • Flexibility to work out of hours when necessary.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Access to a vehicle and driving license is necessary.
