Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and refining the Apps SDK, ensuring that external apps can integrate natively into Canva’s product ecosystem.

• Work remotely or from any of our campuses in Australia.
• Develop and refine the Apps SDK for seamless app integration.
• Architect new capabilities and shape API designs.
• Drive large-scale projects and make key architectural decisions.
• Mentor other engineers and share best practices.

• Advocate for developer needs and ensure SDK alignment.
• Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication are essential.

Requirements

• Commercial experience in a software development environment.
• Experience in building internal/external SDKs, APIs, libraries, and frameworks.
• Understanding of computer science fundamentals including asynchronous programming.
• Knowledge of browser rendering pipeline and event handling is a bonus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
