Overview

The Physical Automation Development Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, and deploying automated sortation systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in the sortation and transportation processes.

In Short

  • Research and develop automated sortation systems including robotics and AGVs.
  • Manage construction projects and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Evaluate and select vendors through a competitive bidding process.
  • Investigate and resolve mechanical breakdown issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to enhance system performance.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Develop project schedules and deployment documentation.
  • Maintain cost logs and manage project finances.
  • Travel up to 60% for project needs.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent.
  • Preferred degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in evaluating bid proposals.
  • Experience with automated sortation equipment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Flexible travel schedule including weekends.
  • Ability to analyze budget performance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in construction management is a plus.
