Virtual Home Hospitalist - Remote

Overview

The Virtual Home Hospitalist is a core member of the UMass Memorial Medical Center Hospital at Home clinical team, providing telehealth facilitated inpatient level care in the home for patients requiring ongoing acute care.

In Short

• Provide direct patient care during 12-hour daytime shifts.
• Offer emergency overnight coverage support on active call days.
• Facilitate admissions to the Hospital at Home program.
• Conduct video visits and manage care plans for complex patients.
• Collaborate closely with nursing and paramedic teams.
• Participate in training and mentoring of new recruits.
• Work remotely while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Engage in clinical coverage over weekends and holidays.
• Contribute to program care process improvements.
• Opportunity to work as both a Virtual and Brick/Mortar Hospitalist.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with licensure in Massachusetts.
• BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Recent inpatient level acute care experience.
• Comfort with telehealth and managing complex patients.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passion for patient-centered care.
• Willingness to participate in clinical training and education.
• Adaptability to work in both remote and in-person settings.
