Overview

The PCA II - Monitoring Technician position involves observing patients through remote video monitoring, providing patient care, and supporting the healthcare team in a dynamic environment.

In Short

  • Provides continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
  • Assists nursing staff when patients require assistance.
  • Participates in hand-off communication regarding patient information.
  • Ensures patient environment safety and confidentiality.
  • Performs PCA duties as directed.
  • Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager.
  • Holidays and weekends are part of the schedule.
  • Eligible for a sign-on bonus for new external hires.
  • Requires effective communication skills and computer proficiency.
  • Must be able to handle stress and emergency situations calmly.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education or GED.
  • Current CNA or EMT license preferred.
  • Prior clinical experience or nursing student with clinical rotation required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
  • Must utilize proper safety techniques in all activities.
  • Experience in remote video monitoring is a plus.
  • Commitment to patient care and respect for diversity.
