Overview

The Medical Assistant II (MA II) provides clinical care and performs clerical duties to support office/clinic functions under the direction of licensed clinicians at UMass Memorial Health.

In Short

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Collect and document patient health status and history.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as required.
• Assist in routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and report abnormalities to physicians.
• Work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by Massachusetts Department of Health.
• Ability to perform clinical and clerical duties.
