Tax Specialist II - Remote

Overview

The Tax Specialist II is responsible for coordinating various aspects of tax reporting and preparation, interacting with Wealth Advisors and clients, and maintaining tax preparation systems.

In Short

• Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments and year-end taxes for Fiduciary accounts.
• Analyze tax information and review return output for investment accounts.
• Prepare trust, fiduciary, and individual tax returns.
• E-file various tax returns and track filing status.
• Provide ongoing tax training to Wealth Advisors and other associates.
• Resolve issues with federal and state taxing authorities.
• Mentor Tax Specialist Level I.
• Ensure timely provision of tax information for accounts with fiscal year end.
• Conduct tax research as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Tax preparation experience or accounting background preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• Ability to learn and use tax preparation software efficiently.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Smartsheet preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent designation required.
