Operations Engineer II - Remote

Overview

Brightspeed is searching for an Operations Engineer II to manage and perform proactive maintenance on network elements for voice, video, and data networks, contributing to the design and creation of a world-class fiber network.

In Short

• Manage proactive maintenance tasks on network elements.
• Develop and implement plans for capacity augmentation.
• Perform engineering and applied research for new projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across IP, ATM, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networks.
• Configure network equipment using CLI/TL1 commands and GUIs.
• Analyze and isolate problems at both physical and logical layers.
• Maintain understanding of circuit and packet switching.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in challenging situations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant telecommunications experience.
• Strong project management skills.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues.
• Solid understanding of Ethernet switches and routers.
• Excellent logical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good organizational skills and adaptability.
