Onboarding Specialist - Remote

Overview

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Onboarding Specialist to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and manage the onboarding process for staff supporting VA task orders, ensuring that all documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner and that new hires are fully prepared to begin their assignments.

In Short

• Coordinate onboarding activities for new staff joining VA task orders.
• Track and manage the submission of all required onboarding documentation.
• Communicate with incoming staff to ensure they understand onboarding requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between new staff, internal teams, and VA representatives.
• Maintain accurate onboarding records and track status of candidates.
• Ensure compliance with VA onboarding policies and procedures.
• Provide regular onboarding status updates to program managers.
• Assist in improving and streamlining onboarding processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 2+ years of experience in onboarding or HR coordination.
• Experience with the VA Onboarding process.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in a government or contracting environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
