Data Protection Officer - Remote

Overview

Blockchain.com is looking for a Data Protection Officer to join a young, fast growing team at the heart of the digital asset & blockchain technology movement. This person will play a key role in helping the business build a globally sustainable, long-term compliance focused culture.

In Short

• Act as point of contact with global supervisory authorities and data subjects.
• Lead investigations into suspected data breaches.
• Review and negotiate data processing agreements.
• Ensure DPIA’s are conducted where necessary.
• Manage and respond to data subject requests.
• Monitor data management procedures and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams for privacy by design.
• Review and update data protection policies.
• Perform audits for compliance.
• Deliver training on data protection requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data protection and legal compliance.
• Expert knowledge of GDPR/UK GDPR.
• Working knowledge of GLBA, CCPA, LGPD, and PDPA.
• Excellent people skills.
• Collaborative and pragmatic approach to compliance.
• Knowledge of data processing operations in the sector.
• Basic familiarity with information and cyber security.
• Ability to influence teams and stakeholders.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
