Overview

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of multi-state payrolls for Bill employees, driving compliance and supporting various stakeholders.

In Short

  • Prepare and process end-to-end multi-state payrolls for over 2000 employees.
  • Process and submit employee equity transactions and related tax withholding through Workday Payroll.
  • Review and prepare payroll related journal entries to be posted in the general ledger.
  • Prepare reconciliation of cash transactions between the payroll bank account and the general ledger.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all payroll remittances and reporting.
  • Proven experience with year-end close and W-2 processing.
  • Ensure compliance of payroll SOX controls and maintain knowledge of applicable regulations.
  • Provide timely response to inquiries from HR, accounting, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct audits of data changes to ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Manage time and attendance workflow to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • 5-8 years of experience processing end-to-end payroll and equity transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Payroll and federal/state regulations.
  • Able to come into San Jose HQ as needed (2x per week).
  • Demonstrated Payroll Accounting experience.
  • Ability to think outside the box and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to customer service with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and G-Suite.
