GIS Field Technician - Remote

Overview

BETA is looking for a GIS Field Technician to support data development, spatial analysis, and cartographic output for municipal transportation projects.

In Short

• Collect spatial data in the field using GPS units and surveying equipment.
• Conduct field surveys to verify or update GIS data.
• Ensure accurate data format entries consistent with standards.
• Develop and maintain geographic database structures and reports.
• Provide technical support for cartographic mapping and reports.
• Support Project Managers with GIS data and maps.
• Flexibility to work from various office locations.
• Hybrid work schedule allowing remote work up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Planning, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience with ESRI’s suite of tools.
• Solid understanding of GIS principles and applications.
• Experience with ArcGIS Online and map services.
• Proficient in current technology (tablets, smartphones, laptops).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform field work in varying weather conditions.
