Mortgage Underwriter - Remote

Overview

As a Mortgage Underwriter with Banner Bank, you will apply the underwriting standards adopted by the Board of Directors, Investors, Agencies, and all regulatory and/or policy requirements.

In Short

• Responsible for underwriting residential loan applications to ensure compliance with Investors, Banner Bank Portfolio, all secondary marketing conduits and private mortgage insurance companies.
• Facilitate and support all loan production staff in matters of residential underwriting.
• Assist loan officers and processors with origination of complex and/or problematic loans.
• Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma: required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
• 4 or more years of experience in mortgage underwriting required.
• Intermediate knowledge of 1-4 family loan underwriting guidelines, including all loan types/programs.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in MS Office products including Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to underwriting.
