Mortgage Underwriter - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for providing a loan decision based on an individual’s credit history, financial position, and strength of collateral. This person must have an extensive understanding of FHA, VA, and RD guidelines.

In Short

• Complete analysis of loan files for compliance with guidelines.
• Communicate loan decisions to appropriate parties.
• Review and clear conditions.
• Data entry into loan tracking systems.
• Communicate with Loan Originator and Processor.
• Work outside standard hours if needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of Fannie/Freddie, FHA/VA, RD guidelines.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to acknowledge customers in a friendly manner.
• Provide prompt follow through on inquiries.
