Mortgage Loan Underwriter - Remote

Overview

The Mortgage Loan Underwriter will evaluate borrower financial and credit information in accordance with established underwriting guidelines to inform lending decisions.

In Short

• Underwrite and decision agency conforming, jumbo FHA/VA residential mortgage loans.
• Verify and analyze financial information and documentation.
• Review appraisal reports for discrepancies.
• Analyze applicant's income, expenses, and credit reports.
• Calculate qualifying ratios and determine creditworthiness.

Requirements

• Experience underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional & Jumbo Loans.
• 4+ years of Underwriting Experience.
• Knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) & Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
• Understanding of the mortgage lending process.
• Ability to perform loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple files simultaneously.
