The Scheduling Specialist coordinates the scheduling of appointments and procedures for physicians, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer relations.

• Coordinates scheduling of appointments for physicians
• Obtains necessary authorizations and referrals
• Provides customer service for patients and staff
• Documents correspondence in medical records
• Schedules and confirms patient appointments
• Assists physicians in examination rooms when required
• May supervise support staff

• Must live in Tucson or surrounding areas

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical setting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in office software and medical practice management software
• Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding preferred
• Understanding of various insurance plans preferred
• Bi-lingual in Spanish may be preferred
• Must possess Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card for specific assignments
