Overview

The PFS Quality Assurance Specialist will perform analysis and audits of registration functions that support Patient Financial Services and ensure compliance with billing requirements, contributing to the improvement of healthcare services.

In Short

  • Analyze demographic and financial information to ensure registration accuracy.
  • Create regular and ad hoc reports on performance analyses.
  • Act as a knowledge resource for registration staff on compliance requirements.
  • Participate in training for registration staff.
  • Work independently under general supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain standards of audit and accuracy compliance.
  • Provide patient services work as assigned.
  • Conduct performance improvement activities.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate patient care.
  • Retain knowledge of insurance and payor requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in Patient Registration/Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance payor types.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Efficient keyboarding and office software skills.
  • Ability to create reports from medical records database.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Ability to retain large amounts of changing payor information.
  • Experience with performance improvement activities is preferred.
