Senior Embedded Rust Developer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Rust Developer, you will bridge the gap between hardware and AI, developing performance-critical services that connect building technology with intelligent algorithms for real-time control.

In Short

• Shape the technical architecture of the low-level stack and define code standards.
• Design robust, concurrent systems for hundreds of simultaneous protocol connections.
• Develop performance-critical connectors for industrial building protocols (BACnet, KNX, Modbus, etc.).
• Analyze and eliminate performance bottlenecks in millisecond-critical data streams.
• Deploy and test directly on ARM hardware in real building installations.
• Independently evaluate new protocols and hardware platforms for the roadmap.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of practical experience in Rust development.
• Experience with performance analysis, bottleneck identification, and optimization in system-level applications.
• Experience in designing robust, concurrent systems with asynchronous programming for data stream processing.
• Cross-compilation and debugging for ARM/x86 gateways and practical experience with edge deployments.
• German language skills at least B2 level.
• Self-organized working style with a hands-on mentality, preferably experienced in startups.
• Preferred: Experience with building automation protocols (BACnet, KNX, Modbus) or industrial communication standards.
