Director of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Services - Remote

Overview

The Director of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Services role is responsible for growing and leading a team of cybersecurity consultants who continually and strategically improve cybersecurity maturity of Ascend’s clients across diverse industries and technologies.

In Short

• Provide hands-on leadership and development of a team of vCISOs, GRC Consultants, and Security Awareness Consultants.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and client satisfaction.
• Enhance vCISO and Security Awareness service delivery strategies.
• Lead initiatives to improve service effectiveness through SOP development.
• Serve as an escalation point for internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on GRC service marketing and sales enablement.
• Provide direct vCISO consulting services for select clients.
• Maintain and document service runbooks for risk consulting services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, or equivalent.
• At least 7 years’ experience working as a CISO/vCISO.
• Experience preparing for compliance audits (SOC2, CMMC, etc.).
• Experience in assessments and risk remediation strategies.
• Experience consulting for cybersecurity services.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
• Proven track record of accomplishment.
