Security Control Assessor - Mid - Remote

Overview

The Security Control Assessor (SCA) plays a pivotal role in understanding the cybersecurity posture of capabilities within the DoD's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). This position requires expertise in cybersecurity standards and best practices.

In Short

• Provide independent risk assessments of assigned systems.
• Advise Program Managers on authorization determinations.
• Support CDAO with cybersecurity compliance.

• Prepare Security Assessment Reports (SAR).
• Monitor and reassess risks based on findings.
• Develop continuous monitoring strategies.
• Present briefs to senior officials.
• Provide advisory support for security architecture.

Requirements

• Public Trust – Secret level clearance preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Security certifications (e.g., Sec+, CISSP).
• Experience with OSD leadership or military branches.
• Understanding of NIST guidelines and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with GRC tools like eMASS or Xacta.
• Familiarity with Federal A&A Processes.
