Lead API (Node.js) Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead API (Node.js) Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of backend APIs that are both easily testable and adaptable for future enhancements. In this role, you will assume full ownership of the codebase, establish best practices, and guide the team in addressing complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js, a solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns, and demonstrated leadership in navigating technical challenges. A passion for exploring new technologies and continuously improving development practices is essential.

• Collaborate on a distributed remote team

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant work experience, including backend programming experience with building microservices and RESTful services in Node.js
• Experience with mentoring junior developers
• Strong understanding of server-side software architecture, paradigms, and design patterns
• Experience with agile software development process
• Solid understanding of networking and security concepts like DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Encryption, etc.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, SQS, Kafka, etc.
• Experience with orchestration using AWS CloudFormation/ AWS CDK/ Terraform
• Experience with scripting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps
