Software Engineer (7+ years of experience) - Remote

Overview

Anrok is tackling a key challenge for all Internet businesses today: navigating the changing landscape of tax. In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

In Short

• Own the scoping, design, and development of product features.
• Identify and fix bugs and technical debt.
• Collaborate with Support to address technical issues for customers.
• Strong technical background with 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• 4+ years of experience building web application backends.
• Experience with frontend development is a plus.
• Thorough problem-solving skills to ensure the right solutions are built.
• Ability to articulate design tradeoffs clearly.
• Share knowledge and experience to level up the team.
• Work in a hybrid model for employees in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• 4+ years of experience building web application backends.
• Experience with TypeScript, Postgres, and React is preferred.
• Ability to think through problems thoroughly.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
• Willingness to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to manage technical debt.
• Experience in bug fixing.
• Ability to work remotely full-time if outside the San Francisco Bay Area.
