Software Engineer (4 + years of experience) - Remote

Anrok is tackling a key challenge for all Internet businesses today: navigating the changing landscape of tax. In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

In Short

• Collaborate with coworkers to understand customer needs.
• Design systems that solve real-world problems.
• Build best-in-class product experiences.
• Own the scoping, design, and development of product features.
• Identify and fix bugs and technical debt.
• Collaborate with Support to address technical issues for customers.
• Work with a stack including TypeScript, Postgres, and React.
• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer required.
• Experience with frontend development is a plus.
• Participate in a hybrid work model if based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

• Strong technical background with 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience building web application backends.
• Ability to think through problems thoroughly.
• Designs that consider current and future needs.
• Ability to articulate tradeoffs in design.
• Willingness to share knowledge and level up peers.
• Experience with bug fixing and technical debt management.
• Collaboration skills with support teams.
• Experience with TypeScript, Postgres, and React is beneficial.
• Ability to work remotely full-time if outside the San Francisco Bay Area.
