In Short

• We are seeking a forward-thinking Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Aerospace Ground Test Engineering team.
• This role is ideal for someone with a strong design background who excels at optimizing mechanical workflows and improving engineering processes.
• You will be responsible for developing scalable, efficient design solutions that support ground test programs—without direct involvement in fabrication or hands-on testing.
• Lead design process improvements for ground test equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate with Design and Technical Writing teams to streamline data access and documentation workflows.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications using tools such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with systems, instrumentation, and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs meet test and operational requirements.
• Integrate composite material considerations into fixture and tooling designs, including layup strategies and bonding interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship Required: This position requires access to export-controlled information under U.S. law. Only U.S. citizens are eligible in accordance with ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in Aerospace or Defense.
• Proficiency in NX, AutoCAD and engineering documentation tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated experience with composite materials and design for manufacturability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on process efficiency.
