Senior Software Engineer - Crypto - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Engineer at Alpaca, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the systems and services that form the foundation of Alpaca Crypto, empowering millions of users trading billions of dollars worth of assets.

In Short

• Lead all Crypto related engineering including exchanges licensed in the US and Bahamas.
• Architect and build a perpetual futures exchange with high-performance matching engine.
• Implement backend services and web applications.
• Maintain good software quality and test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot incidents.
• Work with a cross-functional team to define goals.
• Be on-call for timely engineering projects.
• Design a state-of-the-art crypto exchange.
• Work in a fully remote environment.
• Collaborate with a diverse team across multiple countries.

Requirements

• Experience building a CLOB exchange or high-throughput financial systems.
• Experience in building crypto systems.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (GoLang preferred).
• SQL or relational database skills.
• Hands-on knowledge with Bash, Linux, and Docker.
