Employment Counsel - Remote

Overview

The Employment Counsel provides legal advice and counsel in all areas of employment, proactively counseling business units on workplace legal issues and risks.

In Short

• Provide legal advice on employment laws such as ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and more.
• Draft and respond to cease and desist letters related to employment disputes.
• Manage complex pre-litigation and arbitration processes.
• Conduct training for HR on employment law issues.
• Collaborate with outside counsel for global employee matters.
• Oversee attorney demand letters and dispute handling.
• Review responses for agency complaints.
• Develop strategies for assigned legal matters.
• Evaluate the use of outside counsel.
• Work remotely with approximately 10% travel required.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5 or more years of experience in employment law.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong budget management and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Research skills to synthesize legal and regulatory information.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Proven collaboration skills with senior leaders.
• No supervisory duties required.
