Overview

Algolia is seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer to join the Engines team, responsible for building and maintaining the Core Search Engine to ensure optimal performance and scalability for customers.

In Short

• Contribute to the design and development of the Search engine system at scale.
• Ensure the quality and soundness of the system.
• Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve high impact issues.
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call rotation for Algolia Search operations.
• Work with modern C++ and Golang.
• Focus on high code quality and automated testing.
• Experience with distributed backends is a plus.
• Professional English communication skills are required.
• Experience debugging distributed systems in production is a nice to have.
• Ability to work in a Kubernetes environment is advantageous.

• Strong foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software design).
• Rigor in high code quality and engineering best practices.
• Experience with complex C++ codebases.
• Experience in leading engineers in component design and delivery.
• Professional spoken and written English skills.
