Senior R&D Operations Manager - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented associate to oversee the financial, operational, and compliance aspects of our Research and Development (R&D) organization. Reporting directly to the CPO and CTO, this role will manage the R&D operational expense budget, optimize CapEx and CoGS, ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, and handle software capitalization across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial and operational background and the ability to partner with auditors, cross-functional teams, and global stakeholders, especially in finance and HR.

• Develop, manage, and track the R&D budget, including OpEx, CapEx, and CoGS.
• Provide detailed financial reporting and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance for budget adherence to company-wide objectives.
• Monitor and optimize capital expenditures and CoGS.
• Manage software capitalization processes under US GAAP.
• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors on financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations across multiple countries.
• Develop streamlined processes for tracking R&D spending.
• Create dashboards to monitor R&D spend and financial performance.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations for financial accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 6+ years in financial operations or budget management.
• Experience in software capitalization under US GAAP.
• Experience collaborating with auditors and managing compliance.
• Strong understanding of CapEx, CoGS, and R&D cost structures.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP compliance and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with financial tools (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
