Overview

The Principal Town Planner will work on infrastructure planning projects across the UK, focusing on DCO projects, and will be part of a national team supporting hybrid working.

In Short

  • Lead and assist in the delivery of major development applications.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across various project types.
  • Submit and manage planning applications, liaising with local authorities.
  • Provide planning advice on consent requirements.
  • Produce planning feasibility reports and consent strategies.

  • Identify opportunities and build client relationships.
  • Oversee project management ensuring quality and safety principles.
  • Work closely with the Environmental Impact Assessment team.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation.
  • Experience leading planning applications, including infrastructure development.
  • Good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach.
  • High commitment to quality.
  • Commercial awareness and project/budget management experience.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office.
