VP of Data Engineering - Remote

Overview

The VP of Data Engineering will be responsible for leading the data-focused Technology, Engineering and Platform teams, whose output directly empowers business insights and decisions at A&F.

In Short

• Lead execution of data projects to support A&F’s goals and strategic initiatives.
• Build organizational technical capabilities to enable the ingestion, integration, modeling, and transformation of internal and external datasets at scale.
• Modernize Data Engineering infrastructure for effective scaling.
• Drive the technical data strategy in alignment with the SVP of Data Analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to leverage data as a competitive advantage.
• Ensure the Data Engineering organization has the resources and skills to meet company goals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO leadership team.
• Manage costs associated with Data infrastructure and operations.
• Ensure core data assets are secure and meet regulatory requirements.
• Build advocacy around data engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Strong experience with data technologies such as Azure, PowerBI, Snowflake, Tableau, and Databricks.
• Knowledge of modern data technologies and architecture decision-making.
• 15+ years’ experience in a data leadership role.
• Experience in building and managing large data engineering organizations.
• Track record of recruiting and developing talent in a global environment.
• Experience in building infrastructure and data science tools/products.
• Experience in data-heavy environments, preferably in consumer or retail technologies.
• Experience delivering value in a multi-company or agile environment is a plus.
