Senior Engineer, Data Management - Remote

Overview

The primary responsibility of Senior Data Management Engineer is to build data pipelines, model and prepare data, perform complex data analysis to answer Business questions, build and automate data pipeline and quality framework to enable and promote self service data pipelines, assist in operationalizing the AI / ML Engineering solutions. This role is expected to lead and guide other team members and evangelize the design patterns as well as coding standards.

• Team up with engineering teams and enterprise architecture to define standards and development practices.
• Create and maintain data ingestion and quality testing frameworks.
• Conduct complex data analysis to answer queries from Business Users.
• Build and automate data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Setup and improve data quality monitoring and alerting.
• Document Data Flow Diagrams and Data Models for Data Pipelines.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment.
• Identify and implement DevOps practices for automated deployments.
• Follow industry-standard data security practices.
• Participate in training programs for Business Users and Technology teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Management or Data Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in building metadata driven data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks / Spark.
• Expert level SQL knowledge on various databases.
• Experience in using Azure DevOps or GitLab.
• Functional knowledge of Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Containerization.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to implement Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience designing and building complex data pipelines.
• Strong work ethic and motivation.
